I am a corporate senior executive almost on the verge of retirement. I am not well known and doesn't matter but my work on high blood pressure matters.
This website is my continuous effort to provide as much information as possible on blood pressure for any common person like me to understand to control blood pressure. I am not a doctor but a patient with high blood pressure who learned a lot about the topic during the last three decades and still learning.
Some well-intended doctors put me on high blood pressure medication at the age of 30. My hypertension is not genetic. I am 62 now. Thankfully both my parents are in their 90s and are still in good health conditions. Even my grandparents from both mother and father had lived a long life.
High blood pressure in my case is certainly a lifestyle disorder. Logically, It is a lifestyle disorder that could easily be reversed with lifestyle changes. I am constantly working on it.
As I became more aware, I realized that I shouldn't have started the medicines, but should have made lifestyle changes to control my blood pressure. My blood pressure is under control now and I am taking fewer medicines than I used to at the age of 30.
